Research Use Only Policy

Definitions

• “Research Use Only” (RUO) means use exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research, development, and analysis conducted outside a living human or animal body.
• “Qualified researcher” means an individual, at least 21 years of age, with the education, training, and experience to handle research chemicals safely, acting on their own behalf or on behalf of a laboratory, academic institution, or research organization.
• “Products” means all materials sold by Origin Labs, including research materials and related laboratory supplies.

Scope of this policy

Every product sold by Origin Labs is supplied exclusively for in-vitro laboratory research and development. Products are not drugs, foods, food additives, cosmetics, medical devices, or dietary supplements. They are not intended for human or animal consumption or administration, for diagnostic or therapeutic use, or for any clinical, veterinary, cosmetic, or personal purpose. No statement by Origin Labs — on this site, on packaging, in a Certificate of Analysis, or in support correspondence — constitutes medical, health, administration, or usage advice.

How products are supplied

Research materials are supplied as lyophilized (freeze-dried) powder in sealed vials. Orders do not include mixing or reconstitution instructions, syringes, needles, alcohol swabs, injection supplies, or any other consumable, and Origin Labs never packages a product as a ready-to-use or ready-to-administer kit.

Any reconstitution solutions we sell — such as bacteriostatic or sterile water — are offered as separate, general-purpose laboratory reagents for diluting and preparing compounds for in-vitro work. They are priced, listed, and shipped as standalone items; they are not bundled with any compound, and their sale is not an instruction or endorsement to prepare any compound for human or animal use.

Buyer certifications

Every order requires acceptance of a recorded acknowledgment at checkout. The current acknowledgment reads:

Your acceptance — including the acknowledgment text and version, the time of acceptance, and the IP address and browser user agent used — is recorded with your order. By purchasing, you further certify that you:

• Are at least 21 years of age and a qualified researcher as defined above;
• Are legally permitted to purchase, possess, and use the products in your jurisdiction and at your institution;
• Will use the products solely for lawful, in-vitro laboratory research; and
• Will not resell or transfer products to any person or entity for consumption, administration, or any other prohibited use.

Prohibited uses

Products must never be used for:

• Human or animal consumption or administration of any kind;
• Diagnostic, therapeutic, clinical, or veterinary purposes;
• Cosmetic, food, dietary-supplement, or household applications;
• Resale or distribution for any of the above purposes; or
• Any use that violates applicable law or institutional policy.

Laboratory handling responsibilities

As the buyer, you — not Origin Labs — are responsible for ensuring that products are received, stored, handled, and disposed of safely and lawfully. This includes ensuring that:

• Products are used only in a qualified laboratory or research facility appropriate for chemical research;
• Everyone who handles products is trained in laboratory safety and uses appropriate personal protective equipment and safety protocols;
• Products are stored, labeled, and disposed of in accordance with applicable laws, regulations, and your institution's safety procedures; and
• Products are kept out of the reach of children and unauthorized persons.

Origin Labs does not provide, and this policy must not be read as providing, any instructions for the preparation, administration, or use of the compounds themselves.

Reporting obligations

If you become aware of any accidental exposure, misuse, diversion, loss, or theft of products purchased from Origin Labs, or of any regulatory inquiry concerning them, you must notify us promptly at support@origin-labs.org in addition to fulfilling any reporting duties you have to your institution or to authorities.

Consequences of violation

Violation of this policy may result in any or all of the following:

• Refusal or cancellation of pending and future orders;
• Immediate termination of your account;
• Reporting to relevant authorities where required or appropriate; and
• Legal remedies, including enforcement of the indemnification obligations in our Terms of Service.
